Il Valentiano
The name “Valentiano” originates from the combination of the names Valentina and Fabiano, the husband and wife team who own Il Valentiano. The estate, 400 m. above sea level, is situated on the southwest side of the hill of Montalcino in Tuscany. The hill is fully steeped in the Mediterranean macchia which grows wildly here and gives very peculiar sensations.
The soil–rich in iron and clay with optimal drainage characteristics–combined with a fortuitous microclimate provides the perfect location for growing vines and olive trees. Il Valentiano only cultivates Sangiovese Grosso vines while the olive trees range from the Leccino to Moraiolo and Olivastra. The fully renovated winery boasts the most modern technologies in the enological field including temperature and humidity-controlled fermentation barrels, and modern pumps.
