Palazzo Maffei
Once a leading light in Verona’s aristocracy, the prominent Maffei family built a historic legacy which lends a rigorous and charismatic personality to its wines. The ancient estate, once home to Marquis Maffei, appears on local maps c. 1600, but probably dates back further. Since 1925, four generations of the Cottini family have been committed to preserve and pass on the winemaking tradition. Founded by Carlo Cottini, Palazzo Maffei continued to grow in the 1950s with his son Raffaello.
Grandson Diego and his wife Annaberta continue the legacy, accentuating the winery with research and originality, and a production chain certified at every step. Great-grandchildren Michele and Mattia bring to bear their talents and a wealth of experience of the land. Love and determination inspire every action where the most priceless legacy is experience. The high elevations vineyards located in the eastern Valpol village of Trenago produce sustainably grown, hand harvested cru wines.
